In 2015, Ali was part of Thurrock 100, an exciting transformational joint venture with Public Health and cultural organisations, including Kinetika, working together for the wellbeing of the community in Thurrock.
Following the success of Beat The Street across Thurrock in July 2014, Thurrock 100 was created to keep people walking and be involved in an exciting arts project which engaged hundreds of local participants. Thurrock 100 was launched in November 2014 by Ali, Dr William Bird from Intelligent Health and Debbie Maynard, Thurrock Council’s Head of Public Health. The project aims to start a long term legacy in Thurrock and plans for 2016 are already being made.
The launched on Thursday 9 July 2015, when Ali and Kinetika started ten, ten mile walks across ten key locations that spanned the geographical area of Thurrock. The event culminated in a call out to all schools to take part in the finale event, walking into Village Green in Grays. On the walks, ten silk flags were carried that were designed and made by the residents and schoolchildren of Thurrock.

“Your idea and flags are so inspiring. I hope that we have the chance to really make this a success.” Dr. William Bird
